Fenerbahce announce talks with Chelsea over Raul Meireles

Fenerbahce have announced they’ve opened talks with Chelsea for Raul Meireles.

Fenerbahce have confirmed to the Turkish stock market that they are in talks with Chelsea over the Portuguese international, with the transfer window in Turkey staying open until later this week.
“We have started discussions to transfer Chelsea Football Club player Raul Meireles to our club,” said the Fenerbahce statement.

This deal for me makes no sence at all specially at this time, after sending Essien on loan, etc. Raul Meireles would be very important for Chelsea this season because to win silverware like we did last season we need a perfect balance between youth and experience and after most of our experienced players leaving like Drogba, Kalou and Bosingwa, Meireles would add alot of experience and options.

We recently sent Essien to Madrid on a season long loan which to me made so sense as well. Now it would be really stupid of Chelsea to sell Meireles to Fenerbahce.

More to follow soon. Stay glued to CFC360 for the latest as it happens…
