Forget Stones? Chelsea Urgently Set To COMPLETE Transfer Of Dutch Star Ahead Of Weekend Game

Chelsea are reported interested in Paris Saint-Germain star Gregory van der Wiel after a disappointing opening match of the season with Swansea.

According to Metro, Chelsea have officially enter the race to sign Dutch international van der Wiel after Ivanovic’s disappointing display for the Blues’ first EPL game of the season.

The Serbian defender had a torrid time trying to mark out Swansea’s young star Jefferson Montero, which lead to many Chelsea’s fans calling out the Blues boss Jose Mourinho to strengthen his right back position. Ivanovic seems to have lost pace and concentration to keep out young and fast attackers.

French giant PSG are reported willing to let the 27-year old star leave this summer but French media house Le Parisien claim that talks are already going on for van der Wiel contract renewal.

Ivanovic was a key player in the Blues’ squad last season, playing all the 38 EPL matches and that earned him a place in PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

The 31-year old Serbian international moved to Chelsea in 2008 from Rusian side Lokomotiv Moscow as a central defender but has in the past few seasons played at the right back for the Blues.
