Chelsea are reported preparing a shock bid for Newcastle United summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum.
According to Daily Express, Chelsea’s boss Jose Mourinho is interested in securing the services of the 24-year old attacking midfielder after joining the Magpies last mouth for a reported £14.5 million.
Magpies boss Steve McClaren has warned off chelsea that they are not interested in any bid they may make in order to secure the services of the Dutch international and this has been heavily backed by Magpies owner Mike Ashley.
The Dutch star move down to England this summer after helping PSV Eindhoven to win the Eredivisie title last season scoring a total of 18 goals in all appearances. He was superbly supported by Manchester United new playmaker Memphis Depay.
This comes as a surprise with Chelsea having the like Oscar, Williams, Fabregas, Ramires and Hazard in the attacking midfield possition to choose from.
