Jose's wish granted: Hazard won't play more that 20 mins against Ivory Coast

Chelsea's Belgian Wizard: Eden Hazard

Chelsea’s Belgian Wizard: Eden Hazard

Marc Wilmots has granted Jose Mourinho’s wish and vowed to use Eden Hazard sparingly in Belgium’s home game with Ivory Coast on Wednesday.

Jose Mourinho showed his concern about Hazard’s busy schedule earlier and suggested that Belgium rest the youngster in the International break.

As he prepared to face Ivory Coast, Wilmots revealed he was happy to oblige, in a stance that will come as a timely boost to Chelsea’s title hopes. He said,

‘I am aware of the situation with regards to Eden’s overall fitness, and it could become an issue for the 2014 World Cup, if Chelsea go all the way in the Champions’ League. The final comes after the end of the Premier League campaign and would leave him less recovery time for Brazil.

Those sort of factors could affect his ability to produce his best at the World Cup, but that is something to consider nearer the time. For now, I am happy to accept that we don’t need him to be starting this game. I am happy with the group of players at my disposal, and Eden will be on the bench. I won’t use him for more than 20 minutes.’

It’ll be good to see arguably our most sparkling player this season get some rest after playing almost every game for us this season. Chelsea who have looked strong this season have also been tipped by William Hill to win the Premier League this time on. Hopefully Hazard can be back fresh and fit so we can go on and win all the crucial upcoming matches and finally lift another League title under Jose Mourinho.

Until next time, KTBFFH!
