Sources from Daily Mail today reveal that The Blues’ are in to finalize what could be our final signing of the summer for Porto’s Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu.
Chelsea are looking to finalise a £3.5million deal for Porto winger Christian Atsu in the next 24 hours.
The 23-year-old is expecting to get the go-ahead to undergo a medical tomorrow as the clubs continue to thrash out the terms of his deal. It is understood the Portuguese want a sell-on clause inserted for the Ghana international who has attracted interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and Cardiff City.
This deal is an exciting one to see what Jose Mourinho will do to handle the immense depth we would have in the attacking midfield ranks at Stamford Bridge. It may also signal the departure of Victor Moses on a season long-loan move to Liverpool as it was rumored last week.
Atsu, who played 25 games last season and figured for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations, can also play as a striker.
He may yet go out on loan for a season once he signs as Chelsea assess their extensive array of attacking talent.
Liverpool remain keen on a loan deal for Victor Moses while Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia are keenly monitoring developments with Juan Mata and Fernando Torres.
The Spanish remain in the market for the duo as they know the importance of playing regularly to make the World Cup squad in Brazil.
Torres is expected to stay though with Demba Ba the most likely to depart Stamford Bridge. AS Roma who are on a look to sign a striker after selling Osvaldo to Southampton are reportedly interested in Ba.
