Chelsea has been identified as the latest club to linked sign Manchester Utd striker Wayne Rooney. Rooney hasn’t fully adapted into Van Gaal’s current tactical approach which has led to many criticsm of the striker’s ability to find the net this season.
It is reported that Chelsea are priced at 7/1 to land the versatile player, while also suggesting that Rooney is 1/5 on to remain at Old Trafford.
Although the England international had been previously linked with Chelsea in 2013, he signed a contract extension after being assured of his place by David Moyes. Mourinho in a bid to sign the forward made so many glowing remarks about the player, ranking him among the greatest strikers in the world.
The chances of leaving Manchester Utd look slim but not impossible has the former Everton man has been handed a much bigger responsibility as the club’s captain. Rooney scored a total of 14 in 37 matches for the Red Devil last season and has seven goals to his name already this season.
