With the close of the summer transfer window beckoning, the Blues have brought their ‘never say die’ attitude into the transfer market as reports making the rounds suggest that the Blues are poised to make a fresh offer in other to land over £70million rated Juventus and France international midfielder, 22-year-old Paul Pogba.
Chelsea are keen on overtaking Manchester City in the transfer market, City have spent about £90 million for three players in the transfer market so far and still have £57 million rated Kevin De Bruye within their sight.
However, the Blues have spent less than arch rivals Manchester City but if they can pull the deal for Pogba, they would end up as one of the biggest spenders in this year’s transfer market.
While on their pre-season tour in USA, Mourinho lavished praises on Pogba and hinted that he is also interested in the services of the player.
When quizzed by the press in America, he said:
“Pogba is not to put pressure on people. Pogba is one of the top players in the world. Pogba goes to any team and improves that team automatically.”
Chelsea have had a slow start to their season, with Fabregas accused of not turning up in their matches – it is believed that the presence of Pogba will take the sole burden of creativity off the boots of Fabregas as the player is able to support both the defense and attack of his team.
Having played along Andrea Pirlo, Chelsea would have gotten an experienced and energetic midfielder in Pogba if they can land him.
