According to many reports in Spain this morning, Chelsea has beaten Manchester United and Manchester City to the signing of Barca’ Pedro Rodriguez.
According to the reports, Chelsea tabled a bid for the player yesterday which was accepted by Barca and have moved quickly to agree personal terms with the player who will now become a Chelsea player before weekend.
According to the Daily Express, the player had flown to London today to undergo medical with Chelsea and should he pass, he will be announced as a Chelsea player and could make his debut for the Blues this Sunday when they take on West Brom in the third premier league game of the season.
Pedro was initially thought to be on his way to Manchester United with many reports claiming the red devils have agreed personal terms with the player and are very confident on agreeing a fee with Barca.
If the reports are true, it will be a case of hijacking the hijacker as Chelsea were the club said to be forerunner for the Spaniard’s signature before all of a sudden Manchester United were said to be the closest to sign him.
City were also linked but the Citizens’ interest seem to have died down after they complete the 50 million signing of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool.
